Starting With The Best

I was ecstatic to be recognized!

My art journey began with a decent set of wax-based coloured pencils from a general arts and crafts store. Many people enjoy them, and they have their perks, but I felt it could not hold a fine tip nor blend heavily without creating thick, waxy blooms and frustration. I was also colouring in an adult colouring book, which bored me out of my mind!

Being ever-so independent, I started drawing my own lines to colour and purchased my first set of Faber-Castell Polychromos 60 from Opus Art Supplies. Half-way through my first bird, I ran back to the store and bought so many open stock colours that I should have bought the Polychromos 120 kit, which also came in a sleek tin. Really wanting the sexy travel case, I bucked up and splurged on the 120 kit for my birthday in June.

In a short amount of time, I fell in love with Polychromos and birds so much that I kept creating. In October, the team at Faber-Castell USA noticed my work and sent me a gift (pictured below). Not only are their art supplies delicious to work with, their team gets gold stars and sparkles for their great care! Thank you Faber-Castell!
